Refund Policy for Maths by James

At Maths by James we strive to provide exceptional educational services to our valued customers. We understand that sometimes circumstances may change, and you may wish to request a refund. This refund policy outlines the terms and conditions governing refund requests, including our cooling-off period and charges for used services. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy.

1. Cooling-Off Period:

We offer a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase. During this time, you have the right to request a full refund of your payment, provided that you have not used any of our tutoring services.

The cooling-off period is designed to give you ample time to assess the quality and suitability of our services.

2. Charges for Used Services:

If you use any of our tutoring services during the cooling-off period, you will be charged for those specific services. Once a tutoring session has been scheduled and conducted, it will be considered as used, and the associated fees will be deducted from your refund amount.

This policy ensures that our tutors are fairly compensated for their time and expertise.

3. Eligibility for Refunds:

To be eligible for a refund during the cooling-off period, you must meet the following criteria:

a. Your refund request must be made within 14 days of the initial purchase.

b. You have not utilized any of our tutoring services during the cooling-off period.

c. Your account is in good standing with no outstanding violations of our terms of service.

d. If a programme has not started (If a programme has you will not be entitled to a refund as there limited spaces)

4. Refund Process:

To request a refund during the cooling-off period, please contact our customer support team at contact Provide the necessary details, including your name, order number, and reason for the refund request.

Once we receive your request and verify its eligibility, we will process the refund within 5 business days using the original payment method.

5. Refund Exceptions:

Please note that the cooling-off period does not apply to the following scenarios:

a. Customized or tailored tutoring services that were explicitly agreed upon before the purchase.

b. One-time or short-term tutoring sessions that are scheduled and completed within the cooling-off period.

6. Post-Cooling-Off Period Refunds:

After the cooling-off period has expired, our standard refund policy will apply. We may consider partial refunds or credit towards future tutoring sessions in exceptional circumstances, such as technical issues on our end or tutor unavailability.

7. Changes to Services:

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any of our tutoring services at any time without prior notice. In such cases, customers

Cancellations

A scheduled tutoring session MUST be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance without penalty.

Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled tutoring session are subject to the following penalties:

1. 100% of the hourly rate WILL be charged if the tutoring session is not cancelled before 24 hours of the scheduled tutoring session.

2. If a client is a “no show”, meaning they don't show up to their scheduled tutoring session and they have not called to let us know 24 hours ahead of their scheduled tutoring session. 100% of the hourly rate WILL be charged.

3. Clients/Students who arrive late will only be tutored for the remainder of the scheduled hour. Sessions will NOT be extended into another students time.

All reasonable extenuating circumstances will be taken into account. Repetitive late cancellations, “no shows” and/or late arrivals may result in termination of tutoring services. If we decide to terminate service, Maths By James will keep 50% of the remaining balance and we will refund 50% of the remaining balance back to the client.

Occasionally, the tutor may need to reschedule a lesson and will give as much notice as possible. If [email protected] and the client/student cannot find a mutually agreeable time for a rescheduled lesson ,then the client/student will not be charged for the session.
